I'm honestly not sure why I didn't start this sooner. It probably has something to do with the extreme lack of free time I have to just sit and write. But, I already wish I had the past 6 months documented, so I figure it's better late than never!
In case you happened to just stumble upon this blog, let me tell you a little about us.
I'm Kelly.
This is my husband, Brandon.
And this is our 6 month old baby boy and light of our lives, Owen.
There's really nothing special about us. We are your typical, middle class family living in Middle Tennessee. We've been married for almost 8 years, in which nearly 6 of those years were spent trying to conceive and going through a lot of infertility treatments. Obviously, it was well worth it as you can see by the picture above ;). Brandon and I both work full time outside the home. I personally fight a battle with this every single day. I hate that I can't stay home each day with my sweet guy, but since he tends to enjoy having a roof over his head and he REALLY enjoys his food, it is kind of a necessity.
I decided to start blogging our lives for a couple of reasons.
#1 I LOVE reading other blogs and watching Youtube videos of other peoples' lives. I really think I might have a slight obsession with seeing how other people live. It's fascinating to me. And I get many, many great ideas from other Mamas, too!
#2 I want my son's life documented as much as possible. I keep a journal that I will give to him later in life, and I enjoy scrapbooking, but I really like the idea of having the journal and photos together.
#3 I sincerely struggle with being a working mom. I can't possibly be the only working mom out there who wants to be home with her baby, and I sure know I could use some support from other working moms. I've vowed not to let my son miss out on anything just because I am at work. It may require twice as much work on my part, but he is worth every bit of it. I can't do everything that I would like to with him, but I can surely do my best!
So, here we go!
